[It's a dark, windowless room, and Tarr is camped out on a futon with a small lamp that barely lights up the room on a nearby table. He's going to look up at the door opening and then snort as he puts his phone away.]

[To be fair, as far as Jaehyun has seen there aren't that many people around Tarr so he doesn't have much of a point of reference for this sort of thing. That said, he does know that Tarr has snuggle limits so he's used to enjoying it when he can for as long as he can. He's used to it by now.]

Surprised you didn't work in a comment about me being a lot of work, you had the perfect chance.

That's because I know better. [Jae grins, eyes scrunching up again happily.] That and I'm special, I'm not just any siren you know. I bet any other siren would totally cower if you gave them that look.

[Technically he's not even a siren at all anymore as far as he knows, but that means he's a seriously abnormal human then. Considering how humans tend to react to vampires. Basically Jae is just weird no matter what species you use as a reference point.]

[Nudging Tarr with his cheek, his smile takes on more of a playful edge bordering on a smirk. If there's one thing in his life he's secure about, it's this fact right here.]

You like me too much to do anything like that. So anytime your face tries to say otherwise it's clearly a lie. Because you'd never!

I think I'll save a comment about you for when you're not expecting it.

[There. Get his usual deadpan expression that follows a joke on his end, because really, what does Jae expect from him? But he just shifts a little to straighten out his shoulders are pressed into the wall.]

Fine. You get the special treatment that I can give you. Though don't expect me to do anything really stupid like couple shirts.

[For that comment he is just going to tap the former siren on the nose with a finger. He could have flicked him in the forehead or something but that was something that could leave a mark and he didn't feel that irritated.]

[He's gotten quite used to Tarr's particular brand of deadpan snark. It had been a little confusing at times, but honestly it's the closest to siren behavior he's encountered since moving topside. So in a way it's familiar in that sense. Sirens as a whole aren't exactly the warmest and coziest species ever.]

But what's wrong with couple shirts? They're cute! [Now thy he knows they're off limits, naturally he wants it.] So what's my special treatment then? Aside from getting to stay like this hen you wouldn't let basically anyone else?

[Though if that's the extent of it, he'll still be satisfied. He really does love being like this.]

[He almst makes a face as Tarr taps his nose, but instead Jae hust watches Tarr intently, eyes serious.]

I will and that's not going to change. Not unless you give me a reason to believe otherwise.

Sometimes you are, sometimes you aren't. I think you're just getting use to me.

[Tarr just isn't one to display his emotions as some people are. He could when he was comfortable with people, but there is always going to be a bit of a awkward shyness to him.

At that question, Tarr huffed and poked at Jae's side, eyes narrowing.] Because you will pick out ugly or itchy ones. [He really didn't like a lot of stuff people pick out for him.] Breakfast?

[Because how many people does he actually cook for? Well, outside of younger vampires he had gone hunting for, really. He doesn't cook for just anyone.]

I could bite you to make you change your mind.

Kind of like how you're getting used to me?

[Jae could be plenty awkward, but shy was not a word that really worked for him. It probably never would, it's just not who he is.]

Hey! [Jae squirms away from the poke, huffing a little laugh. Maybe Tarr is not the only ticklish person in the room after all.] What if I let you pick them out. Would that work? Then you could make sure they weren't ugly or itchy.

[His eyes light up, sulking and seriousness forgotten in light of the offer.]

Breakfast? [He squirms a little before butting his nose against Tarr hopefully, the happiest lil former fish boy in the world.] Really?

[Ah, this means he's the most special.]

.... [At that comment Jae actually laughs a little again, pressing his face into Tarr's chest fully to hide his expression.] I thought you said it only hurt a little and then felt really good? Because I'm not sure if that counts then.

[Especially not when Jae still kind of wants Tarr to tell him how he tastes anyway.]

[He snorted, poking him again. He wasn't going to torture Jae with tickling though he was going to make a note that Jae was ticklish for future purposes.] You will insist on something other then what I pick out, so no couple shirts. Besides we aren't a couple in that sense anyways.

Breakfast. It's easy enough to make if I feel like it.

[He shook his head, a tiny little smile on his lips that he was sure that Jae couldn't see.] It does but I've known people who complain about it in any case.

[harmonises]

[That's as good as a yes. Jae is so stoked to hear that.]

That's what I thought.

[He's also trying not to make a big deal about it, because Tarr and big deals don't really go together.]

[Jae squirms again, wrinkling his nose as the knowledge. He hadn't known he was ticklish either, so it's news to him too. He'll worry about just what Tarr might do with this knowledge later, it's not an immediate concern.]

Hey! You don't know that. Maybe I'll think that it's nice! You can't decide the outcome on your own like that. [There's a head tilt then, showing that once again Jae's failed to grasp something about how humans do things.] A couple like what sense?

Breakfast isn't easy, breakfast is hard! [Jae burns things when he cooks on a regular basis.] I didn't know you could cook!

[Why hasn't Tarr saved him from himself when it comes to food before? How mean.]

Maybe they just don't want you to know that they like it? Because it'd be weird, right?

[Things Jae gets - admitting you like sexy things done between friends is awkward. Things Jae doesn't get - That some behaviors, outside of sexual ones, are limited to people in romantic relationships. Also that you can have sex outside of relationship. Okay so there's a lot Jae doesn't get, but that's a start.]

I've seen some of the choices you've made. [Oh. Right. Jae probably didn't know the significance over the idea behind couple shirts.] It's something that people who are dating or married buy. To show the rest of the world they are together.

[That explains a lot. Here he had thought that Jae just didn't feel like cooking.] It's easy to follow the directions and watch how things heat up, really. That and have a good sense of smell.

Hardly. They are just weird that way.
